Find Your Spiritual Direction
Are you seeking a deeper connection to your inner self and a more meaningful life? If so, you're in luck! Starting March 2026, students in the Cherry Hill Seminary Spiritual Direction Certification program will offer free spiritual companioning appointments to a limited number of participants.
What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction work, also known as spiritual companioning, spiritual tending, soul-work, and other terms, is a practice that facilitates self-exploration and growth on a spiritual path. A spiritual companion is a trained guide who journeys alongside you, offering a safe and confidential space to explore your questions, experiences, aspirations - in short, your spiritual direction.

What to Expect
This program provides an opportunity to connect with a student spiritual companion for one-hour sessions, once a month, for a year. Sessions will be conducted via Zoom, allowing for participation from seekers located anywhere in the United States. (In-person appointments may be available in: Seattle, Albuquerque, Greeley CO, Hilo HI, Chicago, Norman OK, or Durham.)
During these sessions, you (the explorer or seeker) may discuss your spiritual experiences, questions, and challenges. You may do art together, develop rituals, or explore spiritual practices, The student companion will offer a listening ear, gentle guidance, and encouragement as you explore your own spiritual landscape.
Who Can Participate?
This opportunity is perfect for anyone 18 years of age and older who is interested in spiritual exploration and growth but has not already participated in similar offerings from our program. We especially welcome Pagans, spiritual independents, and mystically inclined individuals, but all are welcome.
At the end of the year, we ask you to provide your spiritual companion with feedback on the experience. At that time you can also opt to find another spiritual companion or to sign on with your companion at their regular payment rate.
Important Considerations
- Please note that this program is designed for those seeking spiritual growth, and is not intended for crisis intervention.
- Students are still under training, and spiritual direction offered through this program is focused on exploration and integration rather than crisis management.
- Student directors have completed one year of rigorous training and will be participating in ongoing monthly supervision throughout the praxis year to ensure ethical and competent practice.
- You will commit to attending monthly one-hour appointments for one year and providing feedback to your companion at the end of the year.
- Cherry Hill SpiDir students are committed to creating a safer space for seekers and explorers. Ask about consent, care, and confidentiality.
